Course Description:
Students in this course will explore the art of visual effects. Current industry  digital motion graphics and compositing software will be used to enhance film and video post production. Project workflow will also be covered.

Course Objectives: (This list appears may be out of date.)
  1. Understand the technical issues surrounding broadcast design.
  2. Export vector and raster objects to be published on the web.
  3. Create a basic interactive video game.
  4. Learn how to apply type in motion.
  5. Understand how to create, adjust, and animate 3D layers.
  6. Render linear content in the form of animation, image sequence, digital video and sound.
  7. Learn how to optimize video rendering for the web and DVD deployment.
  8. Understand the concepts of compression.

WDA280: Web Design Studio (Course Syllabus)

Course Description:
This course combines the practical, theoretical and conceptual aspects of web design and animation. Students will critique professional work, design projects for clients, lead and participate in concept design teams, and manage the production of visual identity systems and other forms of visual communication.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
  1. Determin which computer application is need to effectively integrate photographs, illustrations, video and animation. Emphasis will placed on creative concets and good design usability.
  2. Produce a professional real-world website and/or animation by combining different graphic elements into and from appropriate application software.
  3. Contribute and participate and alternative design solutions in both verbal and artistic applications.
